Quote requests and e-mail exchanges

The website itself sends no messages: the “Request a quote” buttons and the form on the Belgium, Switzerland and Monaco pages prepare an e-mail that you send from your own mailbox (Gmail, Outlook or other). Your e-mail provider processes that message under its own terms.

• Data: what you send us, i.e. your name, contact details, company, the content of your message and any attached documents.
• Purposes: answering your request, preparing a quote, performing and invoicing the service.
• Legal basis: pre-contractual steps taken at your request and performance of the contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); legal obligations for invoicing (Article 6(1)(c)).
• Retention: 3 years after the last contact for a request that did not lead to an order; for clients, the length of the business relationship, then 10 years for accounting records, as required by the French Commercial Code.

Audience measurement (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to learn which pages are visited. The Google script is only loaded after you click “Accept” in the banner; if you decline, nothing is sent to Google.

• Data: pages viewed, a random identifier stored in a cookie, browser and device type, approximate location (country, region), and, if you click a contact button, the channel used (Gmail, Outlook, copied address, e-mail link) — never the content of your message.
• Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of the page.
• Retention: Google Analytics cookies 13 months at most; data in Google Analytics 14 months at most.
• Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Hosting and security

Like any website, asiatis.com receives technical data on each visit (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser). It is processed by our hosting and security providers, Firebase Hosting (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) and Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, to serve the site and protect it against attacks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing a safe and available website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are kept by those providers for limited periods set out in their terms.

Cookies and trackers

After 6 months, the banner is shown to you again.

Recipients

Your data is intended for the Asiatis staff handling your request and, when a service is carried out, for the translators working on it. Our technical providers (Google, Cloudflare) only access it for the services described above. We do not sell or rent your data.

Transfers outside the European Union

Google LLC and Cloudflare, Inc. are based in the United States. Both companies are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, recognised by the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data, to withdraw your consent at any time, and to give instructions on what happens to your data after your death.

If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or with the authority in your country.
